Constant Game Crashes - Page 3

But I don't think cooling is the problem. He's got a 120mm all copper Zalman hs, and it's not oced at all. And if it were heat, windows would just completely crash. What I saw was a "fatal error" and it had all this stuff that was just random numbers and letters. But windows didn't crash at all, it just went to the desktop and that was it.

Well have u tried all the latested drivers 4 everything??? also when my CPU overheated Windows didn't crash it just went back 2 desktop. also there might b a problem with the system Memory or the Mother Board. also does the montior turn off aka go into standby before it goes back 2 the desktop. because if it is the GPU is resetting itself which means faulty GPU or Cooling problem with the 3dcard.

Actually a "complete crash" as you say is not automatic. That is only automatic if its the CPU that is overheating. If its the graphics card that is overheating (and stock has NOTHING to do with that) then you very well may get the error that is occuring.

To make this easy, get another card and TEST it. If it is truely the card's issue then you can either REPLICATE IT (beacuse the temp of the case is too high) or you won't be able to (because the card is defective or the heatsink unit on the card is) and then your problem will be solved.

Another thing that you might try is to go into the BIOS and disable the Cool n Quiet Technology; after a random reboot, it turns itself back on by default. This caused my system to crash during some very intense gameplay and it took me a few time before I realized what was the cause.

I would most deffinetly swap out the PSU. Just to test if nothing else. Could also pull the whole box apart and rebuild it w/ mandatory components in open air so you know heat disapation isn't an issue. Switch out each piece and try again.

Come to think of it, i had an issue like this on my Asus A7V880 w/ a 3200+ xp barton. For some reason, the board can't run at full bus speed 200mhz. I had to clock it down a pinch and it would work fine for my games again. Then again, i was running a very buggy 9600 AIW.

One thing no one has really mentioned is your game crashes might not be video related but memory. I know that you have stated that the memory is fine .. prime95/memtest stable but i found that when i played bf2 it would crash.

This was down to too tighter timings and had to adjust my memory from 2-2-2-5 to 2-3-2-5 before it was game stable.

Try manually setting the timings within the bios, not using the "auto" setting.

Hope that helps
