No man. What would they be sued for? If your under warranty, they'd give you a new hdd, so they'll honor the contract you signed with them by buying it. It's just that they won't come out and say "oh btw, before you buy this, know that we cut as many corners as we can, so just pray your hdd doesn't go out after your warranty." It's like alot of business practice, sly, underhanded, some of it should
be illegal but it's not. They prey on those who don't know better, or don't know how to build one themselves. See they want you to be stuck in this position-- Should I buy a new preloaded hdd from them? Cause the alternative is to buy a new hdd and a windows disc, and it's more expensive that way. They're hoping to get that hdd sale themselves, plus they saved a little on making a recovery cd. Dang I wish more people saw through their bs, it's the only way they wouldn't get away with it, to me they're blood sucking vampires.
IMO all computer companies should have taken the lesson from apple, when they were so proprietary that they cut their own throats. They handed over all the business to the pc platform, cause they couldn't seem to get their heads outta their a$$es quickly enough. Being ultra proprietary backfires, they think it will force people to buy from them, and it does. But at the same time, anyone who knows better is turned off by it, and they lose sales, alot of them. After all this time, I guess they still don't get it. Fortunately for them, there's alot of people out there who don't know this, and that's the only reason they are able to continue screwing the consumer. If more people were savy, they'd change those systems real quick to be better, cause noone would buy them.
