AMD Socket M2 Motherboards

All the main manufacturers show off the new motherboards. They use an 8 pin ATX connector instead of a 4pin like usual. You can buy an adapter for your current powersupply but it is recommended to buy a new PSU native to the 8pin plug...

Wow they look so similar to 939 boards that the only difference I can see is the cpu retention bracket. Also I only saw one bard with the 8 pin aux power and it seems to me that the DFI has no aux power

EDIT: Nevermind the DFI's 8 pin connector is black and only shows up in the larger picture.

We are told that AMD will only allow one working AM2 demo per manufacturer (without keyboard, mouse, or benchmark capabilities), so some manufacturers will be showing just boards at their booths.
Why would AMD do that? Does that mean they only gave each partner 1 AM2 CPU or was there some other reasoning behind it (other than supply or cost of these pre-production chips)

Anyways, Asus and DFI look to have the best boards as usual though I did like that ECS with 2 PCIe x1 slots between the graphics card slots, in case triple slot cooling ever takes off I think its going to take a while for me to get used to saying "M2N32" as in the Asus M2N32-SLI Deluxe mobo lol. It just doesnt roll like A8N32 or P5N32.....or A8R32 lol, I could go on, it seems Asus' naming scheme is very straight forward

Where did this 8pin connector come from? Is it some new ATX standard that I haven't heard about?

I don't think the 8pin ATX is going to be a new standard... or maybe a new standard for just AMD? Because I haven't seen any new Intel mobos with that pin config so...
If anyone has any more news on this please share.

So do we need new PSUs in order to run the new motherboards?

I hope that AMD finds a better way to make DDR2 better.

In order for high benchmarks, and high performance, AMD processors like the tight timings, and what are some of the super high timings that DDR2 offers? Something like 5-5-5-12 or something as a common thing?

DRR:
2-2-2-5 is tight. 2.5-3-3-7 is average. 3-4-4-8 is loose.

DDR2:
3-3-3-8 is tight. 4-4-4-12 is average. 5-5-5-15 is loose.

The loosest DDR is like the tightest DDR2. They can get a little looser/tighter though.
