ATi RD580 Motherboards

Thread Starter
Here is a look at the new ATI RD580 crossfire boards. Only DFI, Abit and ASUS (pretty much the three OC giants) have boards in 939 while the others skipped the RD580 for 939 and are focusing on M2.

yer the only reason i changed from intel to amd was that i found it extremely hard to frin a crossfire motherboard for intel, and at the time amd was the way to go

Because ATI is one very smart company. They know that nothing will ever be as good as Intel's own Core Logics.

I'm just hoping Intel will not, under any circumstances allow nVidia to run a Conroe CPU in the nForce 4 SLI-IE chipsets.

Overall, ATI made the smartest move to allow Intel run CrossFire in a 975X and 955X, now they have 4 aces in their hand by letting that happened because there will no friction as to whether or not a CrossFire set-up will be run on an Intel Core Logic and a Conroe CPU.

I can't wait to see results on CrossFire and Conroe......on a 965 or 985 chipset that is.

ATI enabled Crossfire on Intel chipsets and they perform just as good as ATIs chipsets do for AMD.
Very nice!

Yep, 955x and 975x are undoubtedly the best chipsets for Intel CPUs (nF4 for Intel pale in comparison) and you can run CrossFire on either one of them so ATI just decided to focus on the AMD segment where nVidia's nF4 has such a death grip on pretty much the whole market
