A little trouble...need some help/advice

Thread Starter
I have a PNY 6600 AGP card that I installed and overclocked last weekend. It was running fine at 475/525 and ran games great!

Now all of the sudden it's got these games running choppy and then will all of the sudden re-boot. I was playing a game and paused it and while it was sitting there for maybe 10 seconds, the PC just re-started.

So I've backed off the settings and am running at 375/500 and still getting the same issues. Core temp on the card is at 52 degrees. Too hot?

Not sure what the processor's temp is but it is also overclocked but has been running fine like this for months.

Voltage is set to default for my motherboard. Just not sure why after a week (I don't keep the PC on all day) that this is starting to happen.

Thoughts?

Need any additional info?

Thanks a bunch!

The temps on the card are just fine, what you might try doing is uping your vdimm a nothch or 2, that should help

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm sorry that I'm not down with the terms.

What exactly is Vdimm?

Vdimm is the amount of voltage traveling through your Ram.And yes your Temps are just fine. Also when you oc that card make sure that the AGP/PCI speeds are locked at there defaults. Oh and Welcome to oc.net

I don't know if it's a RAM problem--your temps are fine now--but do youremember what they were when you had the card OCed? Curious to know if the increased VDimm helps...sounds like the card is underclocking itself (which a bug in some Vcard overclocking SW will do--are you using coolbits? Rivatuner? Powerrstrip?) but powering down and retsarting after disabling the OC SW should get the card back to normal.

Are your drivers up to date on the Vcard?
