Hey im quite stuck with my oc at the moment. Im using the normal bios my motherbaord came with, not sure which one it is though. I cant seem to get my 3500 past 2.4 . I can get it to 2.54 with an 11 multiplier. 1.45 volts on the cpu.Stock voltage on my ram. However when i run aquamark 3 it crashes instantly Any ideas on what i can do? I cant go higher on the voltage for my cpu, mobo wont let me. Cheers

See if it's your RAM holding you back. Put a divider on it and try raising the FSB.

Welcome to the forums.

To change your divider for your memory, you have to go to your Advanced Tab, and go to CPU Configuration, set your Memory Clock to 133 MHz (DDR226), and you should be able to overclock further IF your memory is the problem.

I run a 3500 also. I would suggest not lowering it to 133 but rather 166. 133/266
woud be good if you just want to see how high a FSB your comp will alow but I can get my 3500 to a FSB of 255 with the devider at 166/333. The ram willl clock back to normal speeds if you do so. What is your HT frequency set at x4 or x5? BTW is it a Venice or Manchester core?

kk my devider (is this the same as memory clock?) i have that set at 333 now. Erm.... i dont know about the ht frequency settings. I have mooched about in my bios and have found these. CPU- NB Speed (increments from 200 to 1000 in 200 (mhz i believe?) steps. Also i have found NB-SB Speed. Also has speed increasements the same as CPU-NB. If that helps you at all

Sorry for slow response, rive tuner making me mad lol. Your HT frequency is going to be a multiplier that lists from x1 to x5. When a chip says it has a FSB of 1ghz is means that the FSB is set at 200 and multiplied by 5. When you OC you have to lower it to X4 because it usually isn't safe to go over 1000 by much. Look around in your bios and find the option to do so. The 333 divider is the same as 166. It always good to lower it to X4 because this will first allow you to get a FSB of 250, 250 X4. Most FSB options go from 200-extremely high lol. At stock voltage she would run great at 2.64ghz and only had to increase to 1.375 for .275. After I got past 250 FSB i had to run 1.45 volts to get stable. I dont know exactly what your mobo will list as the options because the all are a little diff in how they label them. My biostar, which no one seems to like haha, is diff than others. Give it a try and post back how ya did
