lookin at the stats on cpuz, that old p4 is VERY similar to my current celeron. everythings the same except i got 2.4 GHz

im gettign TERRIBLE performace in half life 2, a cpu heavy game, the video card rips thru scenes where cpu isnt needed, but once i get to a physics scene im at 4FPS could the 8Kbyte L1 be the problem? im not good with cpus, but i think i remember seeing new p4s and 128 or so
