pqi POWER Series 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2-533
$115

eVGA Geforce 7600GS $124

Total: $492

That is a pretty serious computer for $500... Unfortionately those prices are after some rebates, so you are going to have to get the rents to lend you some money until you get the rebates back.

You other options are going for 1GB of memory and then the 7600GT, or you can go for 1GB and the 820. It really depends on what you do. I looked that the 7600GS and 7600GT for a while, and they pretty much are the same card. The only difference is the GDDR3 and GDDR2. But I do not think that is going to make a huge difference in this application. The performace difference between the 820 and 805 is also minimal, while you will see a significant performance boost from 1GB to 2GB in load time, game performance, application responsiveness.

Do you do a lot of gaming?

Hey man! It happens to all of us!

Ok, drop the extra GB of RAM, and go for just one:

pqi POWER Series 1GB DDR2-533 $67, or $57 after the rebate.

Then if you need to go for this motherboard instead.

MSI 945P Neo2-F $103

And another money-saver (I would do this last, as it has the largest performance implications)

XFX Geforce 7300GS $69

If you did all three you are down to $373 ($363 after rebate)

If you just did everything but drop the videocard, you are at $443 ($418 after rebates).

It is your call, but you will not have much gaming ability with a 920 and onboard video. Getting the videocard and 805 gives you a even computer, which after being overclock would be able to play any game at pretty decent settings. Having just a 920 and onboard Intel video leaves you with no high-end game at all (they will not even load), and bottlenecks your 920.

I am not sure why you want that 920 so bad? If it is because you say that I got 4.7Ghz, I can tell you right now there is noway you are going to get near 4.7Ghz with that motherboard and without watercooling.

You will be able to get your 805 up to about 3.2Ghz on air. That is enough to play and game fine. With the 7600GS, you can play FEAR, CS:S, BF2, or COD2 at 1024x768 at high settings and get 30+ FPS.

Look how close the 805 performs to the 920:

If you notice, the are pretty close, so close in fact, the average user can not even feal the difference.
