If you got patience wait for something with good out of the box clocks!

Hah tell me about it, I originally wanted an XFX 7900GTX XXX but by the time I went downstairs to ask my dad and came back up it had sold out....I settled for an eVGA 7900GTX instead, saved $20 too.

I regret that I got the GT instead of the GTX... Even if it was $200 more, the exta 256mb of RAM would be amazing....

Since I have a job now, I will soon have enough money to get the GTX... (I will probably do step-up in about a month)

By a very small margin, its almost like compairing the 6800GS and 6800GT together....virtually same performance, but one is cheaper/newer than the other.

AHHHHHH!!! I just went to buy an MSI or Asus from newegg (got the 6 months deal) and the MSI says sorry only 1, and the Asus let me add it till the end it said sorry it has been removed due to limited stock. Looks like i'll just have to sit around w/ out video card for a few weeks, unless I can find another site w/ 3-6 month financing financing and 7900GTs.

At stock speed the 7900GT is slighty better than the 7800GTX.

But when you OC, the 7900GT pulls clear ahead of the 7800GTX because of the smaller dye size.

But the best thing is, the 7900GT is more than $100 cheaper than the 7800GTX.

I just checked my status and my card is Packed at ZZF ready to be shipped., should get it Thursday.

I was kind of leary when I checked Stock status last night and the XFX (520MHz) was Sold Out, but thankfully my order got in Friday Night.

I find it odd how ZZF prices the XFX 500MHz and the 520MHz exactly at $309 and the same with the 550MHz and the 560MHz at $350...I mean it's pretty much a no-brainer but it sucks the higher clocked ones were out I would have spent the extra $50, since not all lower clocked cards will OC to the OC'd High Clocked cards.

Either way 520MHz is still higher than pretty much every 7800GTX's

All the 7900GT are EXACTLY the same card. The only difference is the BIOS settings. EVGA or whoever will just set the clock in the BIOS 20 or 50Mhz higher. There is no difference in the cards, and no different from you OC it yourself.

Well I know that some people with vanilla 7800GT's couldn't get anywhere near the 500+MHz I got. Most people got 485 or so, even with the same eact card. Some with a stock clock of 430MHz could only achieve 460-475MHz, maybe less.

I'm just saying if you get a G71 GT that's around 500MHz it should be good for the higher OC'd cards (+50MHz), but if you get the ones that are 460MHz (Vanilla Ones) I dont think you'll be able to get the added 90MHz.

eVGA and XFX pick out some good chips because their CO versions and XXX version can get some pretty high clocks, but at a small premium. I just wouldn't waste my money on a lower clocked card even if its available at the time if a higher clocked one for the same price isn't.
