On the offical site it says, Rev.2: not compatible to 7800 series. So I'm assuming the Rev.3 fit the 7x00 series as you said.

I have rev 3 and it states right on the package for 7800 series. The 7900s are on the same PCB layout, so it should fit those also.

It will work on the 7800 video card. I have one now on my 6800 gt and it works very well, but I will sale it as soon as I have my W/C setup up and running to someone here at Home at Overclock. net

Yes, to do that you'll have to get some more thermal paste for the GPU and some thermal pads for the RAM. But yes, it can be used more than once.

thanks for the reply . i was also wondering if i should use AS5 or just the stuff that comes with the NV Silencer. thanks again

edit: would i need any special tools for the installation or can i just use a standard multi-screwdriver? (still debating on whether or not to get the cooling unit based on ease of installation lol) thanks

I used the stuff that came on it and I get 49°C idle and 66°C load in CS:S with all high settings at 1280x1024. The stock stuff is fine. And all you need to install is a regular screwdriver. Just be sure not to overtighten. Follow the picture instructions and you'll be fine.

EDIT: Just for reference, the installation took me 15 minutes.
