LOTR BFME2 Collector's Edition.........

Thread Starter
Thanks for reading this post as I have a question that I'd really like to find the answer to. As most of you know, Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth II was released and available as a normal release and also as a DVD Special Collector's Edition which comes with your standard upgrade package... extra maps, artwork, etc. However, this edition is also stated to include an extra ingame unit for all multiplayer games and I'd like to ask if anyone here knows what that unit is? It's quite obvious that my friends and I will end up playing this for over a year and it might prove worth rebuying the game if this unit has any benefit at all. $50 bucks for 1 unit doesn't sound practical, but if we intend on playing this 1/10th as much as we played SW Galactic Battlegrounds, it'd be a steal So to repeat myself, does anyone here know what this additional multiplayer only unit is that's only included in the Collector's Edition?

Yes and that's why the extra maps weren't enough to get me to buy it. You can download the maps for free from Mod sites along with tons of player made ones. However, if the extra unit is even halfway decent, I want it When my friends and I find a game we like, we play it until the tires fall off

I have the answer finally............

"All new fire-breathing Dragon – on the battlefield, this impressive unit can only be controlled by players who purchase the Collector’s Edition"

Edit: Btw, if anyone wants the extra maps that are shipped with the Collector's Edition only, you can download them from the link below. EA doesn't frown upon this obviously because they are sponsoring this link and the website.

Instead of creating a new thread, I thought I'd ask my new question/favor here. Does anyone know how to pause the game? Can someone look it up for me in their manual? Like an idiot, I tossed the box/manual after reading it... assuming I'd never need it again. :withstupi

It is most likely one of the 101 keys
I would think that escape would pause the game to take you to an options window. If not then a F-key. And I know you already tried the Pause/break button I think. If it is not any of these sorry I couldnt help. Is it possible that there is a keyboard reasign menu? If so then pause should be listed.

Unfortunately, I think I've tried all 101 keys I've tried all the F keys, escape, and even several combinations of cntrl+alt, etc. Thanks for trying, though Yes, I also tried the keyboard reassign menu, but there is none. There is a way to pause the game in single player mode by pulling up the "powers" screen, it doesn't work in multiplayer. It's really hurting our gaming because in multiplayer games, the game can take quite a long time on the larger maps. There's nothing worse than being forced to choose between losing a game and peeing lol. I can get an answer on Sunday, but I was hoping someone had the manual handy. Can anyone help me out?

Btw, just a quick tip, don't let your opponent find "the ring" or you're dead meat. The hero that can be created with the ring(Sauron or Galadriel) is nearly impossible to kill.

That sucks. It leads me to think that in multiplay you cannot pause. Sucks i guess but think of the other guy... Dude get of the pot so I can Pwn you .

The funny thing about this thread is that I have not played a lord of the ring game. I was thinking it was Lords of the realm One of my favorite games
