I just ordered the Epox EP-8RDA6+ for my xp3000+ socket A & wondering if i made a good choice?

it was between the:

1. Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe - hard to come by, didn't want to purchase on ebay, & wanted in new condition
2. Abit NF7-S2G - hard to come by, didn't want to purchase on ebay, & wanted in new condition
3. MSI K7N2 Delta2 - good price but didn't support my typhoon.

Are you sure the Typhoon wouldn't fit on the MSI?

I don't think that's the correct picture. A stock AMD hsf wouldn't even work, there's no retention bracket. I'm sensing an error here....
Edit: Nevermind, didn't realize this was an Intel motherboard. I thought you had a Venice. I have 2 threads mixed up =P

the heatsink/fan actually clips on the 3 tabs sticking out on both sides.

Ya,it's just like Socket A. I was thinking you were looking for a Socket 939/AGP board, but that was another thread.

Maybe 3, Because that is Socket A.

That MSI there is no way in hell it would ever support the Big Typhoon.

I ordered one of those last week for my 2600+. unfortunately, it arrived DOA so hopefully the new one will be better. the board seemed nice, although I never got to use it.

one weird thing i noticed was that all the jumpers were maked backwards as opposed to what i was used to. the #1 pin was on the bottom right, instead of the top left like my other 2 boards.
