Dumping the Dell

Thread Starter
ive got an old dell dimension 8400 which blew a mobo capacitor the other day. and since dell love to make unique parts which dont fit in other computers ive decided to hock the recently upgraded components and build a new budget system.

I'm carrying over the: 80gb & 750gb HDD's, dvdrom and a HD4670 1gb.

and buying....

CPU:
2nd hand e8400 from ebay

Motherboard:
Asus P5G41C-M-LX G41 DDR2+DDR3 $73

CPU Cooler:
Coolermaster Universal Hyper TX3 $26

Power Supply:
Thermaltake LitePower 600w $68

Case:
Antec 300 $65

RAM:
2G ddr3 1333 G.Skill-NT $60

It all looks fine for compatibility but i thought I'd get a few opinions before spending all my cash.

All prices are in AUD from MSY as its close to my house & prettymuch the cheapest for everything.

Cheers!
new build :)

The resolution is about your monitor and your GPU, not necessarily the CPU.
Your GPU will play on minimum settings with low resolution.

ive already decided i'd rather make a new system.
and yes it will play at 800*600 on lowest but its not as enjoyable.
i'd like a faster computer all around anyway..
