About to order - final thoughts on parts?

Thread Starter
About to upgrade from my previous rig, looking for advice or thoughts on the parts that I've selected before I take the plunge. Keep in mind, I'm trying to keep this as cheap as I can, but I'm also looking for longevity. If there's something that will make my comp last longer, I'd be willing to pay a little extra (to a point).

Mobo: eVGA 133-K8-NF41 Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 SLI ATX AMD Mobo
GPU: eVGA 256-P2-N519-AX Geforce 7800GT CO 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 (I'll almost certainly step-up to a 7900GT)
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego 1GHz HT Socket 939 Processor Model ADA3700BNBOX
RAM: G.SKILL Extreme Series 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 500 (PC 4000) Unbuffered Dual Channel Kit System Memory Model F1-4000USU2-2GBHZ
Cooling: Big Typhoon / Arctic Silver 5

Anything not listed is being harvested from my previous rig. Thoughts/comments appreciated.

The eVGA cards are fine... the MB is not to well known for OCing though!
The ZX version (DDR400) should match the or beat the timings @ DDR500 vs the HZ you selected.

I just chose these for cost. Mobo + GPU for $350 seems to be a not bad deal. And I've heard nothing but good things about eVGA graphics cards. The mobo seems not bad, mixed reviews, but for $200 less than an ASUS or DFI board, I think I can deal.

There is a newer 3700+ SD I believe, with newer (E6) steppings. It's only $3 more... let me find the link...

Get the 7900GT, not the 7800GT....even if you have to wait, you shoot yourself in the foot later, but nice specs otherwise

You're referring to this, I assume: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231032
Alright, for $20 less, I'll take your word for it.

There.
Thanks, I'll change it to that one then

Also, since it costs $350 for the GPU+mobo (another $50 [from what I've heard] for eVGA's "Step Up" program), and most 7900's are around $300-$320, if you can recommend another motherboard for around $100-$150 (tough, I know), I'll look into it.

That's the RAM I was refering to @ 2.8 just up to CAS3 and leave the other timings as is and it should be fine. That will actuall give you slightly faster DDR500 specs
If your up to timing mods in the BIOS you will be fine, if you chose not to play with the RAM timing BIOS settings get the DDR500!
