I doubt there will be a BF4... Just much more DLC and Expansion packs...

They have already confirmed they are working on another Battlefield.

Does anyone know if it's possible to run Nvidia Surround (2D) with three displays at different refresh rates? My setup is 3 (1920x1080) monitors oriented in 60Hz / 120Hz / 60Hz. I know this was possible in Eyefinity with a hack, but I just ordered a pair of 680s and I'm hoping with the new and recent improvements in Nvidia Surround would allow a mismatch in refresh rates to happen.

Unless the 301.10 drivers have changed how Surround works, you can't do that. Monitors must share common resolution, refresh rate and sync polarity.

Me, I'm currently crossing my fingers hoping that the GTX680 will allow me to keep using my 2405's and 2410 for Surround. If it doesn't... I'm in biiiiiig trouble... redface.gifbiggrin.gif Also hoping PCI-E 2.0 doesn't bottleneck it too much; it's going in an X58 system... where it will likely stay for some time.

Considering 8x PCIe 2.0 didn't bottleneck the last gen cards there is no way a 16x slot is going to bottleneck this one. PCIe 3.0 is just for show at the moment.

I have a question about my monitors for surround....

I currently have 2 Asus vh242h 23.6 LCD monitors with 5ms response time

On impulse I bought a Asus vs247h-p from a member here it is a led with a 2ms response time

Contrast ratio is also different but both are native 1920x1080

Refresh rates are both within the same ranges

Did I screw myself by not doing my homework or will these work? What about messing with the edid's? Could I load different drivers or profiles to make them work if they don't. Waiting for good news overclock. Hopefully this wasn't a $150 mistake

Edit: we'll went ahead and ordered another vh242h from amazon so all 3 will match ......

Well there seems to be a bit of fuss about whether PCI-E 3.0 does help with the very newest cards (7970 was the one tested, IIRC) but then, there are also a fair number of people posting that any LGA1366 chip will bottleneck the 680 etc. Perhaps, but I don't think that 4GHz will bottleneck too badly...

It may work mixed, but until you try, we don't know. wink.gif Mixed monitor is always a risk...

Whether it will bottleneck or not purely depends on the game. Honestly for me the only game I care about is BF3.

Link?

If they are its most likely going to be 1943 or 2143/3142... Any of them should be expansion packs for BF3 anyway

Agreed with the first point.

Might buy BF3 later today.

The box had a whacking great hole punched through the back, but it doesn't appear to have hit the card. I will be conversing with Scan when I get home to complain about their packaging; a plastic bag - not even any bubblewrap around the box. If there is so much as the tiniest problem with it I'll assume it was due to travel trauma (ie: having a whacking great hole punched through the box) and ask for a replacement.

I won't have the chance to get it installed until later today, but I'll be testing it out with a few games as soon as possible! Saints Row 3 is the first, I think; it runs terribly in Surround on my 460s. frown.gif

Will also be giving four screens a go when I can. biggrin.gif
