I can play games like portal and f1 2010 full whack with all aa/af and even fallout new Vegas with like 4x aa play without a hitch at 5760x1080. But games like metro with no aa stutter badly (mainly on the outdoor parts) at like resolutions as low as (might not be the exact resolution) 3072x1024. Crysis is even worse, I can't have any aa and even at 1080p I still hit the limit at certain parts even though other parts are perfectly.

No one think a swap with some money is likely? I don't want to have to sell my current cards which overclock great and run really cool for two new (full price) cards that are the same with just some extra memory, that don't come with as good a cooler and probably won't overclock as well.

Ooh.. Finally i can find all what i am looking for here in this Thread..
I just manage to make my surround successfully with:

- x2 GTX 285 Sli
- x1 Samsung LCD 23" 1920x1080 Wide
- x2 NEC LCD's 21" 1600x1200 Normal

I am getting 4800x1200 Max Res, but sometimes i am getting 5014x1200 sad-smiley-002.gif This is really strange right??

Any how, when i am using 4800x1200 Res, i am getting low Res (Blurry), in the Middle Lcd (Samsung), in the same time, the other side screens are very nice and sharp.

While playing i dont have any problem in the Res, all screen give me the same sharpness and quality..

Is there any way to fix this issue, or i have to stay with it..??
Is the different between the 3 screen make this problems..??

Please advice,

I will post some pictures of my setup today after some hours..

Here is my connection setup..

First of all I'm suprised surround is working at all with such different sized monitors, at totally different aspect ratios with again totally different native resolutions.

Well anyway 4800x1200 is 3 monitors running 1600 x1200 side by side, the 5014x1200 is the previous resolution with bevel adjustments applied (this stretches the native resolution so parallel lines match up between the 3 screens. Why you can only access the bevel adjusted resolutions only some of the times i'm not sure exactly.

I'm guessing your 23" LG is the center screen which is supposed to run at 1920x1080 max resolution but if your playing a game at 4800x1200 (which again is 1600x1200 on each screen) the middle screen is then trying to stretch the image vertically to make a 1600 pixels image become 1920 pixels and then shrinking the image horizontally from 1200 pixels to become 1080 pixels. So although it's actually managing to do that it's distorting the image by messing up the correct proportions and like when you do this to an image in photoshop it makes the image blurry and less defined.

The two side monitors which native resolutions are 1600x1200 display the image on their screens the way its meant to be and doesn't have to do any resizing or stretching so they look alot sharper.

If you don't mind this overal then I'm sure you'll be fine to stay with your current monitor setups but if it really is a problem you can't stand then I think your best maybe only option is to replace the samsung with another monitor that is the same size, native resolution (1600x1200) and refresh rate, or you could instead go with replacing the 1600x1200's with 2 1920x1080 monitors which would give you better resolutions for your surround setup.

I hope this helps smile.gif

Just got my stand, Tyke LCD-193B. I was a bit unhappy as the ebay seller listed this at supporting monitors up to 22lbs/10kgs and then I checked the amazon listing and found it only supports ~13lbs/6kgs. Today I mounted one of my two screens (3rd one is due at the end of the week) and found that its robust and holds the monitor quite well with no play at all. Its really stiff! I was afraid to break my screen while trying to adjust it. Once I get some time, I'll be starting to mod this stand to extend it a bit and fit my three 23s.

Couldn't you also change the resolutions of each monitor to one resolution that they all share for the time being? That may work until you can replace them. For example, if they all supported 1440x900, you could adjust them all so that they would have the same aspect ratio.

This is a nice option also,, but can you please tell me how to change them all to that fix Res.. Or do you mean that total Res, like 4800x1200 as total, which is 1600x1200 for each..

The 1920x1080 won't 1600x1200 as 1200 is taller than 1080. You can use the menu button on each monitor to find a common resolution for each. If you can do it through Windows that would be even easier.

well seems as in surround mode it assumes all your monitors are one big monitor you would have to select 4320x900 (1440x900 on each monitor) in the game your playing.

4200x1050 (1400x1050 on each monitor) is another option, these would be your best resolution you would get that stretches over your 3 current displays without causing distortion. This is because the absolute total maximum resolution you could get out of your monitors without distortion is 4800x1080 (1600x1080 x3) however this is not a standard supported aspect resolution.

I'm glad I could help and hope you get your 3x1920's for crisp 5780x1920 gloriousness in the future biggrin.gif
