Max Payne, BF 3, and I think Metro 2033 was the other one I saw peak over 2gigs. That and BF3 I have seen break 2.5 on my system - with the way I currently run it I am running a consistent 40-45 fps in multi. Battlefield is the only game I have seen /consistently/ over 2 gigs for long periods of time, but then again I don't always run with a memory/fps counter up tongue.gif

I have to wonder what my bottleneck is atm, I would love to see my fps hitting the adaptive vsync cap on multiplayer, but I burned my upgrade budget for a while on 3 crossovers and 2 670 4G's hehe(and new mobo/processor for pciegen3).

At 7680x1440 GPU is most likely going to be your bottleneck. At 4-sli CPU will most likely be the bottleneck. But there have been many people with problems with 4gb cards due to the limiting 256bit memory bandwidth. What is your GPU use % while running BF3 and PC specs?

I have heard of many people having problems with 7680x1440. How has your experience been?

I love it - I do have to turn down some eye candy, but seriously at that res you don't really need tons of AA and whatnot to be smote with the awesomeness of surround gaming tongue.gif My biggest beef is and I suspect will remain the games that do not have a ui tuned to surround gaming, and do not have ui controls that allow you to move ui elements tongue.gif I love playing in surround for strategy games, but having to move my mouse across the entire screen because of it dims my enjoyment slightly, and in games like FPS', having things like ammo counts/minimaps be in the far corners instead of the corners of center monitor is... sub optimal.

There has yet to be a game I can't play at decent settings at native res, at less than 40fps average. Speaking of which, I think I will fire up precision and see what my gpu usage is in BF3, it's been a minute since I played that game tongue.gif

Definitely once you upgrade to surround gaming there is no going back. Going back to one screen feels like you are playing out of a box. Post some BF3 benchmarks. I'm interested. At that res BF3 has to be hell to run.

Ah. I've come to the right place.

I'm thinking of getting an Asus 670 DC2. Is 2gb enough for 5760x1080 high texture Skyrim?

So precision shows me at 95-99% usage on both gpus all the time(2.3GB used on 32player server btw), but the BF3 performance overlay shows my cpu as bottleneck. I am not entirely sure how that overlay works but it shows CPU performance about 30% lower than the GPU - and damn but alt tabbing seems to have induced some judder, I will restart and stuff tongue.gif

Anyway, BF3 Settings are as follows:
Resolution: 8060x1440, vsync off
FoV: 90
Textures/Shadows/Effects to High
Mesh/terrain/decoration to Ultra
Deferred AA off, post AA high
Motion Blur off
16x AF, and HBAO

Until I alt tabbed one too many times, I was getting between 39 and 45 fps all the time, unless I was in menuland smile.gif I am wondering if I might want to actually work at OC'ing my i5, if the mild OC I have atm is still leaving the game CPU bound...

Now - is there an actual benching utility for BF3 or anything? I don't own FRAPS or anything, so I am just going on what I saw while in game using precision and the BF3 in game performance overlay.

That doesn't mean your cpu is your bottleneck.

Game on one monitor with same settings. Did FPS go up? Then your cpu is fine.

What are your gtx 670s clocked at? It'd be interesting to see the difference between stock, GPU oc'd, memory oc'd, GPU+memory oc'd.
