I've not had that issue since moving to a GTX680 and the 300 series drivers. Before that, I rarely put the comp to sleep/hibernate anyway, as the mobo didn't resume from sleep well when overclocked (it would resume, give me a Windows login, then reset).

Thank you! Good to know Paradigm! thumb.gif

By the way, how do you like the performance of Surround on a single 680? I'm kinda weary of the upgrade bug biting hard again to add a second (maybe even third... eek.gif) 670, since I know even my pair of 580's in the past were anywhere from good to acceptable in most games, and not so good in others. redface.gif

It's OK, for the most part.

Some games need turning down (Crysis 2 HD/DX11, Ubersampling on Witcher 2, Metro 2033) but most are fine as long as you don't push settings to crazy levels. I can run Saints Row 3 at 'Ultra' but occasionally the fps drops out as it hits 2GB of VRAM and runs out - Ultra but with AA turned down to 2x is perfectly playable and looks just as good.

Honestly, I'd like to sell the 680 and replace it with a pair of 4GB 670s, but I don't think that's going to happen. It's partly psychological - because I've hit that 2GB VRAM limit on some games, I know it's there... and I want to get rid of it. wink.gif

DVI-I = digital and analogue signal.
DVI-D = digital only.
As DVI going into a monitor should be digital only, it's not really important. It would only be important if you wanted to use a DVI->VGA adaptor: they would work on DVI-I, but shouldn't give you a signal on DVI-D.

Yeah... that's the money pit that I was hoping to avoid, lol. tongue.gif

I'll still sit on this decision for a little while longer and see if it's worth diving back into Surround again. biggrin.gif

Aye.

I'm sitting on a little money pit of my own right now. Others in the thread may remember the Phenom II rig that's been so troublesome? Well, I just replaced the mobo and it's still doing it. PSU next! I am not happy.

I can't find a volume/power/source button circuit for my monitor, which needs to be replaced. Without it, I have a whole monitor not working.

That sucks.

...

Well, I swapped out my PSU (Corsair HX850) for another (Corsair TX750 - it was the cheapest option I could find quickly) and all the crashes, random shutdowns and other fun stuff appear to have stopped (cross fingers). I hammered the box with LinX for four hours without it deciding to randomly shutdown, did a full virusscan (it shutdown during one yesterday) and have run a full pass of Memtest and everything was fine.

I'll monitor the box for a few weeks, but I see a Corsair RMA in my future. Let's hope they don't need the box and other bits 'n' pieces other than the PSU, because having moved, I have no idea where they are. Still in a box somewhere, I imagine.

You don't have to. tongue.gif

To be honest, when it comes to EyeFinity/Surround, I'd rather the AMD and nVidia users worked together. Combined, we've got more clout with developers than seperately. I acknowledge that there is no way the companies will work together, so it has to be the users. First step there is stopping all this 'my GPU is better than your GPU' 'no it isn't' business. wink.gif

Anyway, check in when you want. We'll still be here. thumb.gif

...

Does any Surround gamer play Star Wars: The Old Republic? I got given a copy, and with it going free-to-play soon, was tempted... but I've never played an MMO before, so barely know what to do - let alone netiquette surrounding MMOs...
