[Official] nVidia Surround - Page 202

Thanks for the quick replies. I have lowered the settings to the lowest and still get the movement lag. I was hoping to not have to change platforms as I just spent moneys on the monitors. I will look into the ivy bridge CPUs as I would like to future proof with pci-e 3.0( I have learned that there is no true future proof). Thanks again for the help. I will still post pics of the surround set up even thought I can utilize it properly with my setup

Have you checked out OutletPC for cables and misc. cheap parts?

They are at warm springs and eastgate, near the 95 & sunset, and they have quite a bit of misc. parts in stock.

I have not. i get most of the misc comp parts from The Egg. Fry's inventory sucks for in stock. Their salespeople are not much help either. I will bookmark the OutletPC and check them out. Thanks for the tip. I used to work right there at warm springs and gibson and never noticed it. The only thing i go to on Eastgate is the Dump right there

Just making sure you have Vsync off, low FPS with Vsync enabled can make it look worse.

+1 to IB. 3570k will do you wonders.

So 6 days ago I told I would upgrade from my 2x GTX570 1280MB to 2x GTX670 4Gb. So there has been a little change. I went to the store but they didn't have 2 x GTX670 so I have choosen to go for 2 x GTX 680 4GB......
And g*d damn...... they are amazing! No lag at all in BF 3 on Ultra and 2 x msaa....Skyrim look just mind blowing and some other games run like never before. SWEEEETT!!
But there is one problem. I was trying to run 3D Mark 11 but there was a little issue. When I run it on extreme 1920x1080 it looks good, but when I change the resolution to my surround resolution it doesn't display at 3 monitors but only on 1 monitor and it isn't even full screen on one monitor but just one bar in de middle of the screen.
Any one could help me out?
Plus could any one mention me on the first page of this Topic with my GTX 680 in SLI Thanks.

Thats one hell of an upgrade bro! Very nice. thumb.gif
I had that problem also. If i remember correctly I had to turn off the surround and set SLI max performance in the Nvidia control panel.

Just about to go 5760x1080, currently using 2x GTX680 Signature SC 2GB. Should I upgrade to 2x 4GB models or a 690?

The 690 is still limited to 2gb vram, with 2 slightly downclocked 680s on one PCB. The 690 will actually has slightly less performance than your 680s and will not overclock as high.

I would personally try out the 2 680s you have first. In many newer AAA titles @ 5760x1080 you will find yourself having to decrease the AA which drastically reduces vram use (>2gb) anyways to get a high framerate with other graphic settings maxed. If you still see the need then upgrade to 4gb, otherwise I would wait until the next-gen cards in 3-5 months to upgrade. But if you got tons of cash to blow, why not.

hardforum did a benching @ 5760 x 1080p and the conclusion was the 2GB GTX 680 not the 4GB model was good enough in SLi..
of course the 4GB with more VRAM can come in handy but not required.

a lot of games are pushing more than 2gb of vram. Great move by Amd for putting 3gb on their high end cards. Nvidia, as usual, leaves it to the AICs to add more vram.

These review sites are great to give you an idea of what to expect, but real world can be more or less of what they concluded. I had no trouble running three 560 448s in Surround do the vram was killer in the demanding games frown.gif
