so its windows updates switching my drivers? thinking.gif

I can't run 306.xx wqhl, its very unstable and my gpu load is decreased by almost 50%.

306.xx WQHL seem to be good for me on my Fermi cards...

Windows7 never used to auto update your drivers... Windows8 does a lot more of that sort of thing, but hasn't messed with mine yet. Very weird issue Wermad. What level do you have windows update set to? I always put mine on notify me of updates and do nothing.

I had it in auto update but never had this issue with the 6970s, 560 448s, 7970s, & 590s. I set windows update to notify first before installing and I've been able to keep 301.xx wqhl so far. I'm still downloading Crysis 2 from GG so I'll find out soon. The os, Crysis 2, Steam are on the Agility4 256gb while the first Solid3 120gb ssd has origin on it. The Solid3 is a bit faster than the Agility4 so I'm hoping it won't impact Crysis 2's performance. The reformat went smooth on the Agility4 but not so well on the Solid3.

Think I found the issue. It was really right under my nose all this time. I've read about this a few times and I totally ignored it concentrating on the drivers instead. Turns out this is a common issue with sli GTX 580s and Crysis 2 dx11. Seems like the stock voltage is not enough for the game. My mixed cards have slightly different stock voltages and coupled with the slight oc to 800 it was causing one or some of them to crash under heavy load. I read on the EVGA forums to bump them up to 1050Mv from the stock 1000-1025Mv. To be on the safe side I returned the clocks to stock and I saved this profile under AB. Sure enough, the came played fine for an hour until my powerstrip kicked out redface.gif

I wasn't aware Crysis 2 was much more demanding than Metro 2033. Well, hopefully this will take care of the issue. Now i gotta run my outlet to that 20 amp breaker thinking.gif

I was thinking this, as I had similar issues with SLI 580's being unstable in Crysis2. What threw me off was your drivers switching. I wonder if it was crashing and Windows was rolling it back to when it considered it stable on the original drivers it installed...

I was able to max out Crysis 2 and still have v-sync enabled with super smooth gameplay. Unfortunately, my power strip tripped due to the tremendous amount of power being drawn.

I totally put this possibility aside and like you the driver change really confused me. Found a few threads in forums of ppl having something similar issues. Put the stock clocks and bumped up the voltage and I was able to play through about an hour before the power strip switched out.

Just thought I would pop in this awsome thread and show my surround set up...

I love this setup and some games look stunning. Trine 2 in 3D surround still makes me smile smile.gif
