The 4gb cards have been proven unable to increase playability with higher settings in most cases in surround. http://m.hardocp.com/article/2013/01/14/asus_geforce_gtx_670_directcu_ii_4gb_sli_review/6#.UStmjOy9KK0
There are a few cases though where it helps with mods. But as you can see in the graphs the 4gb VRAM cards are actually slower than the 2gb. Ether one you choose, 670 SLI will run your setup great.

Thanks for the reply Paradigm... I will say that a common thing associated with surround issues (that I have seen) seems to be acer monitors.

I use 2 670 4gbs with 3x 1440p. so with 3 22" you won't have an issue. I wouldn't spend extra on 4gb with 1080p monitors personally unless you love texture mods and maybe a little bit of future proofing. but the nvidia cards still don't have enough raw horsepower and memory bandwidth to take advantage of 4gb anyways. I just have to have 4gb with 1440p surround so it literally doesn't die.

SR3 is one of the oddest games I own in terms of performance. Some fairly huge settings changes make next to no difference in performance. Then tweak one thing too far and *bang* it's a slideshow.

Acer monitors certainly seem to be more fussy. I worry that Acer change things in revisions without actually documenting it - or, sometimes, actually noting they have... maybe they change stuff but don't increment the revision number... headscratch.gif

2GB 670's will be great, as others have said. smile.gif

I'll probably be getting a second 670 shortly. I can't kill enough jaggies with just the one. rolleyes.gif I swear if every game just got rid of overhead powerlines I'd be fine, but noooooo. tongue.gif

Just need to wait for a good game bundle, $150 in F2P coins ain't cutting it for me.

1080 Surround can still be very good w/ 2gb cards. I couldn't justify spending $500 more to get 4gb 680s. I'm not going 1440-1600 so it really won't have a huge impact on my needs tbh.

Still, on a side note, these 1200 ips monitors are very expensive rolleyes.gif

Should be getting my quads hopefully at the end of the week and have all weekend to play with them wheee.gif

Btw, I scratched off the Asus 23" ips upgrade since I"m only getting 0.5" in height (width in portrait). Gonna wait if Asus will make a VS249H-P thumb.gif

exactly why I choose my 3x 1440p crossovers over 1200p ips's . the 1440p monitors were 3" bigger, better resolution, and cheaper(at the time of purchase).

Their explosion in popularity has really driven up the prices. i do recall a year ago it was common to get a dead-pixel free on for ~$350. now they're asking for ~$500. A bit more then 1200, but I see a bigger premium going from 1080 to 1200.

I could easily settle for 1080 w/ a bigger height, 24-27. I really don't mind the detail of the larger screens but I just want something taller (or wider in portrait). But, then cost again comes into play. A good 24-27 1080 ips screen is creeping up to the 1440.
