in regards to 3 670s. I would never do that anyways, specifically because of issues tri/quad sli brings.

but to those who want/are getting/have 2x titans. thumb.gif

it's just 2k is a pretty badass fully built computer with two 670s or two 680s with still money to spare. all about that price/performance ratio and titan's ratio is way out there for me for someone who needs a two gpu setup to power 7680x1440/4320x2560. I could only see me asking my wife about spending 2k on just graphics cards tongue.gif unfortunately we have other priorities, wants, and etc. two 670s are doing me fine until 7 series.

If I could only write off gpu's like I wrote my 3 1440p monitors off on my taxes for work since I actually use those monitors for work. since I have home office! but it's not the right thing to do. tongue.gif

I hear you , if running your games at lower settings is acceptable then yes the 670's are a good choice.

But to get max or near max settings on new games 2 titans are needed.

They are different needs and different tools for the job wink.gif

Titan is finally a card for the ultra-high-res triple screen gamers... but it needs two of 'em. If it was $300 less, it would be amazing. Not that it's shabby now, it's just even thinking about buying two of 'em makes my wallet bleed. wink.gif

$300 less not only sounds more appropriate for its actual performance. but my two 670s would be SOLD and gone if I could get two titans for $600 less.

other than obvious quad sli issues though, why not buy two 690s for quad sli and beat 2x titans for same price? 2gb still fine for 1080p surround. 2x titans would be better for 1440p surround because of 6gb obviously. I guess it depends on games looking at quad sli 690s vs. sli titans
Edited by Descadent - Today at 12:42 pm

Other than

1. QUAD SLI means you will not get better fps in most games for the money, often fewer.

2. QUAD SLI means you get a STUTTERING MESS and your real fps value (experienced fps) will be 1/4 of the fps you think you are getting by reading the fraps layover.

3. I have 1080 surround and 2 gb is not enough, 4gb is but the 600 series as a memory bus that is to narrow! / others with 2gb cards at 1080 surround are not able to choose certain settings like AA easily games like Max Payne 3 make that obvious.

BTW with 2 670's you are already lowering setting quite a bit. 6gb is not needed ATM, 4gb is, for those resolutions that require that size frame buffer a larger than 256gb/s bus is needed and more gpu grunt than 2 cards can provide (if you want more than medium settings in many games, 1 card well low medium in most new games.

Titan is for near max settings.

Back to my point with 2 cards in no way at any resolution in any game is quad sli 690's even a comparison for titan 2 way sli (in user experience) and most times not in fps either.

.

this depends purely on the game. there are quite a few games I run wide open max at 7680x1440 or 4320x2560(I don't run much AA because of 1440p so that does help alot) and get 120 fps like in dishonored for example.

then there are some games like crysis 3. that are destroying me. Some mp levels in crysis 3 on high at 4320x2560 are like 45-55fps then some mp levels are 38-42 or I dip down into 32 fps. Single player with crysis 3 is all over the place at least with first mission. 15fps-75fps on low, medium, and high. so it's like what huh?

Dell monitors are usually well built. They're far better than the boxes that accompany them when you buy a whole system. wink.gif But there speaks someone who's been building his own systems for the last 16 years. redface.gif

Agreed. If Titan was in the £550 region, I would have a strong case for selling the 670s and any other cards I needed to to fund a pair of them.

But sadly, they aren't. frown.gif

I agree VERY game dependent. In my gaming world C3 and other hard to drive games is what I am talking about.

C3 is a KILLER, hehehe

Yeah those monitors like to go on rollercoaster price ride.

I have a 1 month old too that kept me up at night. result of that was I just replaced my entire 5.1 home theater system last week with brand new polk monitor speakers all around. sounds great though. Thankfully newegg had some crazy deals on speakers.

overclock.net and avsforums.com has cost me alot of money over last 2 years wheee.gif
