CPU+SLI Scaling with some of my surround results.

Wow that looks great! Does it play well beyond your issues?

Not sure if this is really an upgrade. Do you notice any improvement over your previous setup?

hate to say it but actually in gaming anyways, it's a nice upgrade..
not saying the overclocked i7-920 isn't worthy,,,,, but the 3570K is that much better.
repeat, talking about gaming...

I've seen in multiple benchmarks that it really isn't, or I would have. What type of performance gains are you seeing?

take into consideration the overclocking factor besides the common architecture improvements from Nehalem to Ivy...
the 3570K gap widens when going from stock settings to overclocked, how high of a clock can you get on our i7-920 without it going pop finally.?
the benches usually show stock settings unless you find a specifically clocked comparison..
so besides the (arch improvements) IPC, and the higher clocking abilities the 3570K is better and I'm glad I made the move.
I didn't use LGA 1366 to it's full abilities anyways, I'm a gamer.

here's the anandtech breakdown, I can find more detailed..

Let's talk performance gains here, Mal. I need to know how many more frames per second you're seeing.

edit last post..

The Ivy Bridge chip is 15-20% faster clock for clock than the older i7 920. So at equal clockspeeds the i5 is 15-20% faster.
No games use Hyperthreading so that will not help the i7.
With good aftermarket cooling the 920 will top out in the ~4Ghz range and the 3570 should hit 4.4-4.5Ghz.
