Even my pair of Titans have difficulty reaching and maintaining such a high fps of 120hz or over in some new AAA titles with ultra settings. But 90fps and above actually has amazingly smooth animation that I am very happy with.

I think the 780 is going to be a big hit. Especially with your setup, that needs more GPU grunt than VRAM. Other 60hz surround setup could be limited in some games with only 3gb of memory of the 780 when in SLI.

Thanks! I can't tell if my system is showing up or not - does the forum hide your own rig/sig from you when you see your posts?

I don't have the 3D kit right now, but I'll probably buy it at some point just to try it out.

The most demanding game I consistently play is BF3. I play a lot of Gunmaster and TDM so for those CQB type modes, I run the lowest possible settings. What I find strange is that a lot of the smaller maps (Norshar Canal) are actually much worse on your FPS than some of the larger maps. When I play conquest, I usually jump up to medium settings, maybe with high textures.

On Crysis 3, I didn't bother with Surround - I just played single screen with Ultra graphics and it was decent (>60fps IIRC).

I'm running the ASUS Maximus V board, but since I'm using a 2600k, I'm only getting PCIE 2.0 - I don't think it's a huge bottleneck for my system, but I'm concerned that with two GK110 cards, it could be so depending on how Haswell plays out and what I decide to do, I'll either replace my 2600k with a 3770K (doubling my PCIE bandwidth) or go to Haswell and possibly go back to ATX.

So so so many dependencies...

We can't see it!
But there's a "How to add your Rig to your Sig" in my Sig smile.gif

Now for surround gaming, would it be better to use a 6 core processor? Something about helping minimum frames at 3240x1920, Or would my 3820 at let's say, 4.7 or higher be plenty enough? I have both CPUs, its just that the 3930k is in my somewhat dedicated folding PC, and I'm extremely lazy when it comes to draining loops smile.gif.

Same issues as previous RO. You have to edit a config for your res. At least nothing is really broken. No centered HUD is really the only complaint I have.

Game performs just like ROHOS, its more CPU bound even on my setup (with old GPUs).

Edit for some screens.
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Usually too busy to take any 'alive' screen shots. I'll try to grab a few later.

Sounds like SLI is necessary to run current games in surround mode.
Scaling isn't direct since the introduction of AA specific hardware in a gpu as far as I am aware. You might drop to 30 ish at worst, but SLI certainly makes the surround world better.

Not that I would know from experience....

yo man I'm trying to get this 'effin' 4th monitor to work with my Surround...
not happening.
I tried 2 DVI in the top and then third up top in HDMI, so I had three up top and 1 DVI in the bottom.
I could get all 4 monitors to work but when Surround mode the 4th monitor still goes out.
do I need to try the display port instead.?

Alrighty, I just got myself two more monitors, allowing me to do a triple monitor setup. So I said why not to nvidia Surround! So I set it up and all, and tried out a few games! First off, I will say that this is freaking amazing! Though, I have a bit of a dilemma. Do any of you guys find it hard to do everyday tasks with nvidia surround enabled? Are you guys aware of any way to like switch nvidia surround on and off easily? Because as I have mentioned, nvidia surround is great for games and all.. but not everyday tasks. Any Ideas on what I can do about this?

Thanks for the help!

I find it just fine for everyday tasks, I use it for productivity more than I game (not saying it isnt good for gaming, I just dont game that much in my opinion)

What problems are you having?

And no it isnt that easy to switch back and forth between them.
