[Official] nVidia Surround - Page 491

Well, like laying out windows is a bit weird. Like say if I wanted to have a window go fullscreen on one monitor, so i can compare it with another window on a separate monitor, it cant do that. Its more about how I have gotten so used to using the snap feature and such in windows with laying out different windows, its a little frustrating as I lost some functionality (I think) when I switched to nvidia surround. But I also love it in games.

you can manually size the windows yourself and take off Surround and use all displays.
if using a browser after you close the browser next time it opens should be the same size at close.

I'm running the ASUS Maximus V board, but since I'm using a 2600k, I'm only getting PCIE 2.0 - I don't think it's a huge bottleneck for my system, but I'm concerned that with two GK110 cards, it could be so depending on how Haswell plays out and what I decide to do, I'll either replace my 2600k with a 3770K (doubling my PCIE bandwidth) or go to Haswell and possibly go back to ATX.

So so so many dependencies...
We still cannot see your rig in your sig. Follow Achilees instructions to get them to show.

As long as your at x16 2.0 you should have no pci-e bandwidth bottleneck. If at x8/x8 2.0 speeds you could have some limitaion.

I have both CPUs, its just that the 3930k is in my somewhat dedicated folding PC, and I'm extremely lazy when it comes to draining loops smile.gif.
I havent seen a comparison of 4 vs 6 core at that res. But here is one with the CPU intensive BF3 64p multiplayer. http://chipreviews.com/cpu/frostbite-2s-limit-6-core-performance-in-battlefield-3/3/ Huge difference in min FPS. Your larger res will be less CPU restricted, but not sure by how much. Also note BF3 multiplayer likes HyperThreading disabled.

Dont know which OS your using. Win 8 does not have full Surround support yet. Windows 7 does and the window snap feature works great with the OS.

Are you talking about Rising Storm? How does its multiplayer compare to BF3. Graphics & gameplay? Been looking for a good WW2.

First off, I will say that this is freaking amazing! Though, I have a bit of a dilemma. Do any of you guys find it hard to do everyday tasks with nvidia surround enabled? Are you guys aware of any way to like switch nvidia surround on and off easily? Because as I have mentioned, nvidia surround is great for games and all.. but not everyday tasks. Any Ideas on what I can do about this?

Thanks for the help!
It is a problem to switch back and forth because you have to reset everything every time.

On windows 7, windows will snap to each monitor mostly correctly. It doesn't cause any real issues, it is just a little different. There is also a small problem with context menus from the start menu showing up on the correct monitor.

I just got the GG email alert about Rising Storm. I am curious on how good this is, since its like $16 right now and its a WWII shooter smile.gif

Been running Metro LL. Love it so far. A bit more forgiving then the first and looks a lot better. Just started crashing so I'm going to check for my drivers (tnx Swolern thumb.gif).

Well, I added my system to my sig, hopefully it will appear

If the 780s are $700, I will probably just end up going with the full Titans. My FT03 sits behind my monitor array and the optical slot is just under the center screen - everything works together so well spatially, It would be a huge hassle to get a new case, go 3-way, etc.

I am thinking of buying another video card for either my main machine [GTX 690] or my second machine [GTX 570]. I have about $600 to $800 to spend on it either right now or by the end of the year. When should I make the purchase, I would think there would be more used cards and cheaper deals when the 700 series comes out. I would like to do more heavy triple monitor gaming on my main computer or get a good video card for my second computer to replace the GTX 570.

For the main PC [Interminable Sojourn rig in Sig area], I could get another 690 and I wouldn't mind dropping more cash to get it. However, it would require a new PSU, which means even more money to dump into it. I know the titans scale pretty well, but I do not believe the 690 are scaling as well in Quad-SLi. Right now, running 5760x1080 with Ultra/High graphics does infact hit the wall in games like BF3, Far Cry 3, BioShock Infinite, and some others.

For the second computer [Beryl rig in Sig area], the 570 replacement would just need power the game at 1080p as high as possible. I may update the whole rig at a later point. I was thinking about 760 or 770, as the 780 seems to me as a overkill.

no to the GTX 690 and if you have one already then sell that one too and regroup altogether..
GTX Titans like you mentioned or SLi a pair of GTX 780's..
2GB VRAM GTX 690 will be your downfall in the near future.
