Right now, 690 is still beating out the Titan. The following link shows this. Raw horse power will always beat out vRam. That's where Titan always falls shorts. Thus I would be downgrading to a Titan. I haven't seen any results on a 2x 780 vs 690 or even vs Titan. It looks like I should just upgrade my second computer as the 690 is still quite strong.

Wow thank you so much Swolern! That link helped out a lot, I think I may put the 6 core in my gaming rig and have HT disabled now, but like you said at higher resolutions its less CPU dependent.

look at it in terms of higher resolutions and needing more VRAM in the future for games.
and Titan SLi = FTW...

but single GTX 690 vs single Titan, I'd say the GTX 690 is stronger.
no argument there.

Did you miss the fact that this gap closes significantly at higher resolutions? Or that the 690 effectively only has 2GB of vram? If you game on one screen, then please go for it, use the 690. But in the land of surround, a 690 isn't going to cut it... neither is using 2 690s as compared to 2 titans.

If you are managing to not fill said 2GB of vram, then you will also see better results from the 690. But the second you start throwing in higher levels of AA and max out the 690s ram, from there on out it's all downhill

I never turn it off except when changing my video drivers. There is software from Matrox that allows better customization of your screens (like maximizing to one screen ect...). There is no quick way to change between modes. You have to go into your drivers and disable it, and reconfigure your display settings if you don't like the single default monitor the drivers assign you.

Thanks! Ill take a look at that! I really wish that there was an easy way to switch, but as a programmer myself, I understand how it could be difficult for it to be implemented.

They are correct. If using surround resolution go Titan SLI or GTX 780 SLI. GTX 690 quad will be limited by its vram and bus at that resolution.

not happening.

Malmental, try it the other way around, It works for me that way. tongue.gif

Plug your 2 side monitors (left and right) with DVI's up to the card furthest from the CPU, I put my left monitor in the bottom most DVI port. right goes in the one above, (hook the HDMI up after you enable surround though) hook the HDMI into the same card, furthest away from the CPU.

Plug your middle monitor into the DVI port (the one which is physically closest to the CPU, the top one on that card) on the Card closest to the CPU.
I have to add, with my middle monitor on the top card by itself, my BIOS splash, Windows splash & Windows Logon screens are all displayed on the middle monitor. The way I like it. thumb.gif

Enable & configure your surround setup. I like to restart after this step, (let's me know all the settings have been saved successfully (Surround Vision is working without flaws)and I can move onto the next step). Then plug in you HDMI cable for your accessory display into the card stated above. Enable, and configure (I usually use Windows for this step, it just seems to work with virtually no bugs for me). Restart of course. All settings should be saved and when you power on the next time it should stay that way. biggrin.gif

Please update when you can,
If all of that doesn't work I can always get Sen on the line from Nvidia, he knows me by name now. tongue.gif

Edit:
P.S. I'm guessing your accessory display is the HDMI one? In any event, I'm pretty sure the Accessory has to go down bot.
