[Official] nVidia Surround - Page 6

I guarentee you, if your eyes are fine, it will make games look a lot sharper than they do with any landscape setup.

But of course, the final result is a display that is slightly wider than a single 16:10.... But, it's worth it to try. It looks gorgeous....

De-Zant, How's portrait mode for gaming? My Table isn't big enough for 3 monitors w/o putting them at extreme angles and taking up most of the space. Portrait might work out well though. http://www.overclock.net/nvidia/4676...l#post10818025

Haven't TRIED it but I have seen it personally. If you want to know how sharp it is, just turn your single monitor to portrait and play a game. It'll be pain I know but it'll show you how sharp the image will be.

I did some quick googling and because my monitor is a tn panel there is lots of hate towards using it in portrait because of the low vertical viewing angle. I have seen this problem when switching my old Dell FPD1975W to portrait mode. The color shift when moving your head is huge. Looks like I'll replace the 19" with an IPS and call it a day.

Hey i have an issue here ...

I have 2 GTX460 1gb and a GTS450 for physX.

i just received 2 more Benq G2420HD and i already have a G2410HD. The only difference is the HDMI.

Im currently plugged via DVI for main display and DVI/HDMI for 2 others. But i cant get Surround to work. I can extend my display to all 3 monitor in 1920x1080 but using surround for 5760x1080 result in blinking display ( Black 10sec / Windows 1sec / Black 10sec / Windows 1sec ). i can set Surround to work on a single display at 1920x1080 ... but its not surround loll.

Is this caused by DVI/HDMI and DVI combination ? ?

P.S. I have 2 more DVI cable incoming for allll DVI connection.

when setting surround 2D up I had similar issues using DVI/HDMI connectors. to get it to work properly My connections are as follow in order of the display number from left to right mini HDMI/HDMI, DVI, DVI.

BTW this 3 Monitor setup is amazing! the only thing it is lacking is hotket support for switching from extended to surround

You will need thin frame monitors for portraite.
Else its too bothering on the eye having the frames too close together.

I tried that, but its like having a huge 50" screen right at your face. Not that easy to play with at least for me, with 24" screens.

Have added Boulard83 and wheth4400 to Surround Users list. Have I missed anyone?

...

Had a fascinating experience over the weekend - Magic the Gathering: Duels of the Planeswalkers doesn't like Surround. At all. On a first run, it's fine. Change settings to 1920x1200 (doesn't allow Surround resolutions) and restart to change graphics settings (I hate that - same with NFS: Shift... why restart to change options? ) and it dies on loading. In style - it actually locks Windows up in a flickering screen perpetual loop. Set it to Windowed mode and it works fine, though. Or disable Surround and it works fine. Ah well, so long as it works.

After trying out both surround gaming with and without 3D vision, I can say the current 480s are more than capable handling 2D surround with ease, providing average 60-80fps for smooth gameplay in most games!

If you throw in 3D vision we then need to wait for next generation 500 series for games to be playable in surround. :\\
