See where my mouse cursor is? I have mouse 1 clicked in but the selected area won't go further than that for some reason. After that square area I can't click anything on the desktop. Nothing works. Icons also magically disappear. Anyone care to explain what causes this strange phenomenon?

Anyone have a solution to that?

I watched the vid well said. I found using the butter knife and screw driver a the start helps just to flex the plastic and weaken it to allow fingers to get under the bezel and the free the clip a little. Then prying with fingers up. I wonder how the special tools would go. I'm away from home at the moment but when I get back see the damage on mine and compare. Well done with debezelling the new monitors as well. No fear! smile.gif how are you going to mount them portrait or landscape? Cheers
post #5293 of 8961
i am trying out Portrait at the moment It is BIG! Like how it full screens my vids instead of using the middle and blacking out my order monitors (landscape mode)

Sad its a TN panel so the view angles suck in both modes but i see it less of an impact in landscape mode.

I bought the 1440p monitors and i just cant get over the 60Hz. I love my 120 or 144 =) cant live with out it.

Another con about portrait is no 3d support.

So i will try this out for a week and then landscape and see which one i will stick with.

I find if you sit to close to the panels they do tint. It may be more exaggerated with a bigger panel like the 27". I couldn't get over the size of the 27. It may be just that little to big of an image corner to corner. It would hav to be near 50" diagonal. Anther thing you have to make ure u mount them all in the same orientation. Otherwise they will conflict on viewing angles. When I face my screens I have the original bottom on the right side of portrait mount monitor. Also over lap the monitors start from the left side.
over lap the middle monitor left sided bezel so it's in front of the (left monitors righthand bezel)

Over lap far right monitor in front of midle monitor righthand bezel.

So left behind middle.
Middle behind right.

I used to always have middle in front of the sides but its better the way I tried to describe above.

Now the right side of the portrait setup should be slightly closer to you. this helps alot. its not much at thats required. Also the distance from the screen helps. If you are to close it will start tinting darker and weird colors. Try and push the as far back as you can. Or trial the distance and agle thing by sitting further back for a second. Also don't have the screens on to much of an angle. Look at mine and Vegas pics.

I'm sorry I'm not home to help you further.
So i finally got to try out portrait for the first time on my monitors after i debezzeled (due to the 3d sensor that is build into the bezel). I liked the aspect ratio. It definitely feels like a 4K TV, with about 3/4 the amount of pixels as 4k.

To other portrait gamers out there do you have higher VRAM use in portrait vs landscape? I tried out Hitman Absolution maxed settings in portrait and was showing 3400mb of vram use. This is higher than what i remember, but i havent played Hitman in a while.

My surround setup no longer works with haswell. Since upgrading to a 4770k and a gigabyte Z87X-UD5H from a 2500k and a Asus p8p67 pro I can't run both SLI and Surround. I can run one or the other but not both.

Has anyone with haswell been able to run surround and sli at the same time yet? Any advice?

I think we may need some clarification from bce22 biggrin.gif. You can only select "surround" or "SLI" individually... because surround entails multiple GPU's in SLI to drive "surround" cheers.gif The SLI option is only to run a single display (as the primary 3d rendering monitor anyway).
