Two main factors of how much CPU limitation you will have in BF3 64p is your specific configuration, and the in-game settings used. Even my 3930k @ 5ghz can run into CPU limitations with my config. Probably due to poor game coding in certain areas of the game.
Take a look at the minimum FPS here when both chips are OCd. http://chipreviews.com/main-feature/main-news/frostbite-2s-limit-6-core-performance-in-battlefield-3/4/
Btw nice profile pic.
Agreed, usually I run with a combo of ultra/high settings with hbao on, x2 msaa (sometimes I switch it off for better performance), if I remember correctly fps within the high 50-60's in surround with around 1.9GB VRAM usage which is playable for me.
I'll debate upgrading when BF4 comes out, hopefully as you said it'll be better optimized so I'm hoping I should be safe for a lil while with my 2500K.
Have my sights on ivy-e & the 800 series and would love Love LOVE to upgrade to 1440p surround for the new star wars battlefront. I'd definitely spend some stupid money to play that game at max.
Thanks btw ... jiggle jiggle
