On this note - Does anyone know how to set specific apps/games to boot into a "non surround" mode? Games like league of legends look horrible on Surround, but I don't want to disable Surround each time I play them.. If i just set the resolution in the game to 1980x1020, both my side monitors go black and can't be used.
I use GeForce Experience to set the profile for the games that I want on a single screen. Then make sure that 1920x1080 (in my case) is set in-game. I don't think I remember anything resetting to surround unless I re-install the game or something. Works well for games that I want to play in 3D that these 670's can not push in full 3D Surround.
Like you said, some games look horrible or simply stretch too much on the peripheral monitors so schlepping back to a single monitor is necessary. I am now spoiled with these 144Hz monitors and moving to more resolution sounds nice, but man this is just toooo smooth... I say that because I would have gone with the at least 1440 as that is what I had before this surround setup, and running on a single monitor is simply more enjoyable for me when it has more real estate. But I REALLY like the frame smoothness of these 1080's in 144Hz. Plus, 3D is REALLY nice on some games. Crysis 3 being one of em.
