BF4 beta drivers still too buggy with Win 8 to get a acurate verification of performance. But it does feel smoother on Win 8.

That is correct.

Dice is aware of performance issues and are working on it. Beta graphics are really not very good. But Dice did also say the beta graphics are not what is going to be in the game.
Makes me feel a little better
What about 0 AA and Ultra settings?

Here is the best explanation of Mantle that i have seen. It is basically better CPU optimization with about 9x the amount of CPU performance (API calls). This would relieve CPU bottlenecks. Now if you are GPU/ Shader limited ( GPU use high 90%), like most surround user are, then we will see no performance increase, or at most very small. This is of course depending on your GPU configuration and resolution. It looks like Mantle would help single screen users with lower resolutions the most. Mantle discussion starts at 0:30:00.
Chivalry: Medieval Warfare - Nvidia Surround - GTX 670 3-Way SLI:
It's about time that I did a triple-monitor gameplay of Chivalry: Medieval Warfare! I have been meaning to for quite some time now. And here it is, dear friends. Here it is! Enjoy the sights and sounds of this game on an extreme, water-cooled, overclocked, triple-monitor, custom gaming PC from Yours Truly!
I'm trying out Windows 8.1 preview. It's much better than 8.0 so far. It's also less buggy that the released version of 8, at least with BF4. And yes I see the performance improvement with 8.1 vs 7. Max FPS is about the same, but minumum FPS is almost 40% higher(with Win8.1) in some cases that I'm seeing. Especially with large explosions, for instance when your tank blows up.
Since BF4 is stated to be optimized for Windows 8 i went ahead and installed 8 (even though i still dont like it for surround) and it uses much more vram use than Win 7. With 1440p surround Win 8 here is my VRAM use in BF4 beta:
Ultra 0 AA= 3.8GB
Ultra 2xMSAA= 4.2GB
Ultra 4xMSAA= 4.6GB
Wow that's uses a lot. Be interesting to are if that's allocated or actual usage. I'm only pushing 3GB (ultra and no AA) with 3600x1920P surround.

I use 110. But I agree because of the way they've done things it does look awkward and like a fish eye lens.
