I'm confused... All I see is the normal "fish eye" that from what I understand is dependent on the engine more then the gpu maker.

Maybe that's what it's called then. But I just don't think a crate should quadruple in size if I turn to my right 30 degrees. Same w/ the soldier who doubles in size.

I played Tomb Raider and it looked normal. No funny business. A much better Nvidia Surround experience IMO.

Unfortunately fisheye is in most games, even high end titles. It's just a "side effect" of surround. Honestly though, I don't look at my side screens much, as they act more to fill my side vision to give me more emersion.

Actually as skupples mentioned, it is the lack of true surround support in the game engine, not the surround feature that creates this. That is why TR look so nice. I'm not really sure what is involved in making this work better, but I sure hope it changes soon.

But I agree, I don't really use the outside monitors for direct-look for about 80% of the time while gaming. It is immersion and peripheral movement for a slight edge. I actually bumped up the FOV to 90 recently and it works nicely on high no AA with these beta drivers for me.

^ Makes sense. Yeah, they knocked it out of the park in TR. It was my first attempt @ surround and it absolutely floored me. I WOULD look @ my side monitors. I can't tell you how many times I died just from looking all over the place. Took me 20 hrs to finish and I only got to 70% completion!!

Ah, bummer. But you're right it's not that big a deal. I do look @ the sides when sniping, but you're right, for the most part they just get me sucked into the game more.

Some racing games can render each screen separately. Would be nice if all games did. I guess triple monitor owners are too small a crowd for most game developers to bother.

yeah it's just game engine based - some focus primarily on the very center screen, so when you increase FOV, it's just going to fish eye more to cram more on the center screen - then just let the image span out to the two sides from pure surface area of the resolution. some games feeel worse than others. overall, you'll drive yourself crazy trying to find a perfect one - surround is intended as a wrap around peripheral view, so just let the sides be processed naturally out of the corners of your eye

MUlti monitor is becoming more common now that 1080 panels are so cheap. Oh and don't believe that eyefinity doesn't have fish eye. That's fan boy propaganda. @ least our GPUs scale properly on multi monitor.

I agree with skupples in that panels are so cheap nowadays and multi monitor gaming is growing fast enough for the hardware/software companies to invest more in development. Hopefully that trend continues into the future. I mostly play FPS style games which really do take advantage of the side screens. Tactics change when you see more of the field. Love it when I catch a target sneaking past in my peripherals. My success rate has gone up too, onceI got used to staring at all of those pixels!

my best advice for people having issues wiThe peripheral is to move yourself further away from your monitors. Go to office Depot and get a $15 keyboard tray give yourself another foot of distance. It has helped me greatly.
