The last NVidia cards I owned was a pair of GTX 295s back in 2009-2010. Since then I have only owned AMD. Pair of 5850s, 5970, 6950s, then finally 7970s. They were great for playing on one monitor but for eyefinity... horrible. I get the same framerate in FFXIV with higher settings and smoother gameplay with this 780 than crossfire 7970s OCed to 1100/1500. Not to mention Skyrim doesn't hiccup or dip at all.
I am still kinda in shock that this one card plays everything I want to play at 6048x1200 at 60fps with better settings and smoother all while being cooler and quieter. I remember the GTX 295s as being loud and hot but I guess NVidia has come a long way. I don't see a need to even pick up a second 780 yet but I know that it will be a good upgrade if I have to do so later on.
Speaking of... remember BFG?
