I think you'll find that your two 660s will be fine if you don't mind no AA and Medium-High settings.. But it definitely is worth the cash to move to a couple of 4GB or 3GB cards if you're looking at Surround in the long term and not just for this one game.
I found that the move from 2GB>4GB cards dramatically improved my Surround fps on everything other than BF4, whereas in BF4 I got a small jump. In conclusion this leads me to believe BF4 is very very CPU focused and the next upgrade for BF4 performance would be a CPU Upgrade (although I'm already using a 2600K and I don't want to change sockets
) however most other games will love the addititional VRAM.
I am using a 4670k overclocked to 4.2GHZ,i hope that the importance of the cpu will be diminished within the next few patches.
I have no problem playing on med-high settings instead of ultra also
did you try running your ram on a higher speed?
I heard that 2400 MHz over 1600 MHz gives like a 5-15 fps boost.
