Acually this has been coming for quite some time. Dell has been trying to boost up its "enthusiast" line of PCs. To bad no true enthusiast would ever buy a pc.

And how many Dell's have you used in your life to know they suck.

I've been on at least 30 different Dell's, maybe more, and I haven't found any problems with any of them

Dells are alright for the mainstream public. In my opinion, it's more reliable than the other ones such as HP, Compaq, etc, but I'm only basing that on opinion.

This could be a good move. With the help of Dell, this might drive down prices of Alienware products, which might interest more people into getting a prebuilt computer with more power than they think they should need.

dells work fine, if i were to choose between dell, compaq, hp, sony, emachines...etc, id choose dell hands down. they have their market niche, more power to them with the acquisition of alienware.

look for some decently priced amd gaming rigs with an 'alienware' label on them backed by superior dell customer service

I've got nothing against Alienware. They had high quality parts and components, and charged a premium price for it. I never heard about quality issues with Alienwares like I have with Dells. They were the computers I drooled over for a long time. Sad to see them get bought out by Dell.
