DVI or component?

Thread Starter
Ok got a Dell 24" widescreen LCD that can do HDTV and have a component hookup on it. Also have (2) 7900GTs that have a cable for component hookup. I'm assuming I should just run DVI, but would the component work and would it work better or have any pros or cons? Just never had a video card or monitor w/ anything but DVI and/or VGA. Please no guessing or what "should work" only what you know is true or not. Thanks.

On my monirot watching HDTV through both I don't see a difference.

My DVI settings on my monitor could only display in 1280x720 or 1900x1080 but my VGA could go to the clearer 1360x768, so it's all about what setting works best with that monitor

DVI is digital, Component is analog. DVI is better, there is no loss. It's not like how vinyl sounds better because it's analog, video doesn't work that way. That's why the really new DVD players have HDMI outputs rather than component. DVI is better.
