Thanks Wolf and Angel. The etch was not deep enough, but you could see the image with some light sanding for that piece of metal. Can see in some spots were I sanded it too much. I got the etching fixed now, and need to work on transferring the toner to the metal.

I am glad that you said it looked ancient, since that is the theme I am going for.

Doors and Etching - 9/12/2010

I got the doors cut out for the project. Took awhile to make everything square, but got it done with a file. It going to be a nice touch to the case. To see what the doors are going to look like, I set up the brass plates.

I think I finally got the etching down. I had to change some setting with the printer to get more toner on the paper. Also I added in more pressure during the transfer of the toner from the paper to the metal. It seems to helped out a lot. Here are some pics of the process. Also can see the new versus the old way in the last picture.

I thought about doing stamped concrete for the temple and the base. One of my daughter's play-do toys had a nice stone pattern that would be great for the temple. I got out the Dremel and started cutting. Then I had to use a file to get the it clean. It started to become a pain and thought there has to be an easier way. After doing some research, I found that model train builders had brick and stone pattern panels for their models. Some of the patterns would work great for the temple and base. So I am going to switch over to model panels for the case. It will be a lot easier, and probable look better. Here are some pictures of the work that I did on cutting the stamp out.

I got one of two liquid cooled power supplies for the build. It looks great, and a piece of art. Cannot wait to get this project done, and play some games.

I had to find some special screws for the fan and radiator set-up. It is hard to find long M3 screws. The screws that came with the fans are too long, and needed shorter ones. Here is a picture to compare the two screws.

Last shot of the day. I had to clean up my work area. It was getting to messy, but it is all clean now.

Thanks. Yeah, the design of the case is going to be huge, but I don’t really care about the size. This case is going to look great, and the front mount radiators are going to work very efficiently. I am planning on some high overclocking with the set-up. The nice thing is that I am getting close to finishing the outside, then I can but my focus on getting the computer and liquid cooling set-up connected.

Drive and Design- 9/19/2010

Well I didn't get too much done this weekend. I couldn't help myself but drive around in my new car. Here is a link about the new Dodge Challenger SRTT-8 that I got.

http://www.6bolt.com/csrt8/

The time that I did get on the case was designing the etchings that will go on the obelisks and the Temple's door. I found an Egyptian hieroglyphs font that really help me out. I will share the outside design of the obelisks. Will revel the inside and the doors later. Also, I did have time to drive done to the model train hobby shop. I ordered the model panels that I needed. Bad thing it make take up 10 days to get the panels. Hopefully I will get them late next week so I can work on the case.

Present in the Mail - 9/21/2010

Just had to share with everyone the card I got from AMD. It is a 5970 ATI reference board. I will be a great addition to the Temple of Fusion.
