HOW TO: See GPU temps while you game [OSD]

Thread Starter
I already posted this on a thread, but I thought it would get better exposure on a new thread. I dont know if lots of people are already aware of this, but this is how do it. OSD= On-Screen Display

TOOLZ Needed

EVGA Precision

1. Boot up Precision and click on the wrench icon on the bottom

2. Click on OSD tab and add a toggle for it. Mine is F9

2. Click on Monitor tab. Add check mark to GPU1 temperature and check on the "Show in On-Screen display" radio button. Scroll down on the bottom, there should be an option for Framerate. Do the same for this as well

To go here, you need to right-click on the Precision icon in the icon tray and click Show. Make sure your settings matches this here

Now when you game (not closing Precision), you should see a GPU temp and FPS while gaming.

Cheers

Just a question. OSD's like fps and temp counters in full screen 3d applications like games. Wont that decrease the fps or hinder the graphics in any way?

No, it won't. It doesn't ask that much compute power to display a few numbers

Hmm ok. Just wondering because with my new rig when i use the OSD sensitivity changer with my mouse while gaming, it looks like the lightning is changing somehow. This is in Metro 2033 btw.

That's just because Metro 2033 is using almost all of your resources and craps out if you do anything else. At what settings do you run the game?

Oh, ok you run it at 1680x1050. That means you're in the safe zone . It's still pretty intensive for your system though.

I'm usually in the high 60's/low 70's on fps. Sometimes it drop down to around 40ish with intense sun/light shafts. It's very fluid either way.
