what ram?

Thread Starter
ok im building a new rig:
HD 74G raptor
MOBO a8n premium
CPU 3800+ manchester
GPU XFX 7600GT
and for ram i am stuck. im thinking (2x512) OCZ platinum or (2x1G) OCZ platinum
the 512 have better timings 2225 and the gigs 2325 both are about same price.
I have never built a AMD comp so is this going to work? is the 3800+ good for money?

Great ram. good overcloking possibilities.
Or the more expensive-better performing pair:

OCZ is very nice ram! I really like mine, but I do wish I would have gotten PC3500 or even PC4000 so I can OC better. I have to run a divider to OC which puts my ram still at stock 200MHz. PC 3500 or 4000 will let you run a 1:1 divider. Still if you choose PC3200 OCZ you will have very nice ram

Don't get me wrong, you can still run 1:1 with PC3200 up to a point, but it will take more tinkering and looser timmings.

Yes its a great choice, dual cores uses love their chips and I can't see you being disappointed and youll get some nice oc's. How do you want this rig to last you and what do you plan on doing with it?
