V-Mod for Asus M4A79XTD EVO? Pencil or Not...

Thread Starter
VDroop is horrendous on this board! It's a great board, but but I know I could tweak the 1055T so much more if I get a grip on the vdroop.

I'll try and get pics of my board later if anyone is willing (at work)... And like I said, Pencil or POT

Googled a pic: http://upload.hardver-teszt.hu/imgs/...evo-2d-big.jpg

EPU IC....don't have any info on them. What's the rest of the numbers on the IC and lets see what we can dig up?

Sorry for necroing this thread but I decided to use it as it remains on the first page.

I'm also interested in reducing vDroop on this board via pencil mod if possible.

The numbers on the EPU read: ASP0902 / VCK976.
The numbers on the PEM read: ASP0910 / VCU96T.

These EPU ICs are hard to find data on, but I'm trying.

thats not the IC...but getting closer.. I would think the layout would be the same for the IC..only the functions/values should be different...

*Good luck..I'll see if I can find a few others.

After searching around for a day or so I've been unable to come up with anything.

If I took a trial and error approach, would there be heavy repercussions if I shaded in the wrong resistor?

Yes there may..

Compare your IC to other Asus mobo's that use the 'EPU' for your CPU type/chipset. These IC's are all very similar in design..the differences will be small if any, in the layout of the resistors and mapping to the IC pins.

Its not like your looking for a needle in a hay-stack..you just need to look for a pattern in the layout, and isolate those connections to the IC... then start measuring with your DMM for a "usable level of resistance" for the mod.
