Read my edit amigo. I too was worried about it at first but then I thought about where that sensor might be and well, the edit above covers it.

Well I got my A8N32-SLI Deluxe and my 7900GT in today, and I am happy to say that everything works! Yay! I don't have to return anything for once. Well my CPU temp stayed the same and is at 30c but my mobo temp went up to 34c. I have never had a computer with the motherboard running hotter than the CPU. Weird! It looks like a few of us have this so I don't think it is anything to worry about!

And to think you where cussing Asus the other day. You will like the board mi amigo. Lots to learn with the bios. It has alot more things to tweak and FU than the other Asus boards. How the heck did you get you mobo temp like that? Must be that Zalman. More air flow towards the chipset hs fins? Hmmm. I would hate to change CPU HSFs again. I will see how it goes with the OCing before I make any changes on the cooling. CPU at 30? Wow. I wish I could see 30 but when it is +80F outside I guess my ambiant temps are little higher? Hell we have the A/C on!

I like it sooo much! There are more options in the bios than the A8N-SLI Premium for sure. I like the zalman but I am wishing I had gotten the TT BT. I don't know if my board would run as cool with the BT though because as you have stated already, the zalman is right next to the heat pipe coolings fins, cooling them off aswell. The BT it a lot taller and wouldn't be right up against the heat pipe. I used a rice sized amount of AS5 when i put the HSF on the CPU. I did however spread it out instead of letting the HSF spread it out. I didn't feel like the HSF would spread it over the entire IHS. Seems to have worked.

I think that Zalman is helping you so I would not change it. I used the rice but did not spread it. Hell I just lapped the 3700 and the BT so the paste should not have to fill in much. I will see what ahppens as it "cures". The lapping did bring it from 36 idle to 32 but did not change the load to much. I still hit 39. Who the hell knows as long as it does not get to over 45 when I OC to 3GHz.

AH man, that sucks! Wonder why it would get hotter? For some reason, mine just went from 30c idle to 36c. I wonder if it is because it has been on for awhile now. Board is still 34c.

I might just Keep the zalman untill I can get water or phase.

Lol! I have 2 120mm and 1 80mm. I have a full tower case and it has lots of air space. Only 1 fan as exhaust and that is a 120mm. But the case is aluminum and I have heard that helps dissapate heat.

I hope it goes back down to 30c. Maybe after the AS5 sets.
