well theres 1000k in one mg and thers a 1000mb in a gb so in kb that is 52,000,000 kb

So your partition will be 52,000,000 kb i believe.

14 gb sounds like alot ..Either you have a second partition hanging about but the most likely symptom is that your HDD might not be a total of 160gb Companies always round it up to the nearest 10 gb so that drive in actual fact may only be 150-155gb

Dang, sorry to hear about your loss. If you want to partition your single hard drive to have 2 partitions, you needed to create your first partition before you install windows. Then you would be able to use disk managment to create the second partition. My 160's after format show up at about 149 to 152 GB also.

The idea about creating a back up image of your HDD is a good one. I use norton ghost. You should always keep a digital copy of your important files somewhere else, like a flash disk of even on a cd. I have never lost both of my partitions before. I would be a little worried about the integrity of your HDD. There might be something wrong with it. Be wary!

Sounds like you Master File Table got corrupted, the data is there, just not recognized by windows. There are programs you could retrieve the data from the drive, key is to stop doing anything with the drive until you can get the data off, otherwise, its gets overwritten.
Theres 1024k in a MB and 1024mb in a Gb, by the way.
So your "160"gb HDD. Is actually, 160,000,000k. which is 152.58gb. Companies round up, yes, but its based on the Kb, not Gb.

I've heard ntunes sucks, if you don't mine me asking, what were you doing w/ ntunes, so I'll know what to stay away from if I happen to play around with it.

I'm sorry to hear about your lost, it sucks big time, I've been there done that.

Thanks to all who replied well as of now theres no way for me to retrieve the files i reformated my HDD. The hdd is fine its just that damn ntune that messed everything up it wiped out my entire drive cuz when i reformated it showed me a " FRESH RAW" dialogue. maxima if u have everything overclocked thru bios i suggest not using that stability test from ntune that crap ruined everything.

Thanks for the info, I'll make sure I never use the stability test in ntunes. I only use the ntunes monitoring program, for some reason ... maybe I should stop using it all together. Is it just me or does Nvidia have a lot of issues?
