Are my temps ok?

Thread Starter
Just built a new system, profile updated.

Normal temp is around 44-45, i used the stock hs and fan, i have a side fan on the case blowing in and a fan at the back, although not sure if it's blowing in or out :s

I think the mobo temp was up around 35-38.

I've only try'd 3d mark 05 and got a score of 7183, is that any good?

Well for Stock cooling those temps are expected but those temps are a little hight IMO really so i would invest in a new cooler and some AS5 thermal compound.

I think the mobo temp is a little too high. If you would lower the temp inside y'r case the temp of the CPU will drop also. Check to have a good airfolw inside the case, and the fan in the back MUST blow outside the hot air. If it doesn't change so that it sucks the hot air from the case.

Do you use Arctic Silver 5 as a thermal paste or do you have any thermal paste at ALL between your CPU heatsink and your cpu?

If not then your temps are normal (for not having a thermal paste).

But if you have thermal paste between the two, then you need to reseat your heatsink.

Im only using the default stuff which was attached to the heatsink when i got it.

One thing i need to do is tidy up my cacles in the case.

As long as the load temp. is below 50*C, you're fine.

Unless you have a Pressy like me and the temp. limit is 65*C

(Aha! Mine's in low 50's! INSANE!)

Not much. spend $50 and pick up a Thermaltake big Typhoon or a Zalman 7700CU (both excellent) as well as some AS5. Your temps on your cpu should drop to the low 30's. Then you will have a lot more room to overclock.
