I play GT5 couple times a week still. I've been just tuning my cars for 350,400,450,500,550,600,650,700pp as this seems to be the general range of limitation on rooms with pp limits. And finding out what cars run the best with that level of PP.

I can't drift with a G27 yet

I tried a couple of times with a Corvette C6 (non-ZR1), BMW M5 and BMW M3, I just end up spinning out all the time

Most of the time I have been playing it I have been using either a FWD or 4WD car

This keyboard is beautiful. Its stylish and very ergonomic. They almost made it perfect if they had of made it with mechanical keys for hardcore gamers. However this was not an over sight for them....
