I'd get a Driving Force Pro or GT. The FFB on the Force wheels is more communicative than the G wheels. Some ppl have faster laps with the DFGT wheels than their G25/27s on the F1 2010 forums. Nevermind why they have so many top end wheels, hehe.

It's a lot cheaper too, plus the DFGT has the PS symbol buttons on the wheel.

Who told you the FFB was better on the DFGT? Its not. I've used both wheels. The FFB is much weaker on the GT because it only has one FFB motor and not two like the G25/27. Not to mention the pedals, especially the brake (most important pedal) are much, much better on the G25/27. F1 2010 isn't the best game to compare lap times....its arcade enough I can go just as fast with a controller as I can with my G27.

The GT is cheaper, has more buttons, and is "meant" for the PS3/GT5. That's all the advantages it has.

Going fast on in F1 2010 is easy if you have the driving aids on. Anyways, the point is not to get into a spitting contest here.

The dpad on the DFGT is on the wheel so you can make the proper engine mapping, suspension changes on the fly w/o taking your eyes off the wheel in F1 2010. GT5P had mapping on the wheel also, so it might translate here as well. That's a nice point. FFB wise, some people actually prefer, or that is have found themselves to be faster with the DFGT, again on the F1 2010 forum.

Regardless, is the G series 200/250 bucks better than a DFGT? Personally, I prefer my ancient Momo Force Red (Ferrari), the predecessor to the G25, but its a no go on the PS3.

I'd say the G27 is $200 better than the DFGT. Mostly dude to the pedals. They're more durable, have actual feel, and make threshold braking much easier to do which is the area that REALLY fast guys separate themselves from just fast guys.

Personally I'm much more consistent with the G27. The FFB is more natural feeling of the two, and like I said, the pedals are way better. You also get a clutch/H shifter if you're interested in that.

My GF told me not to buy it. Then when I said I was, she sent me a "with sympathies" card through the post that said the following:

Quote:
Dear Alex,

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your free time, job applications and ability to contact your girlfriend with the release of Gran Turismo 5. It is a sad time for me and I wanted to express my sincere apologies for your loss.

With sympathy,

xxxx (widow)
