hey guys i have a athlon xp 2000+ just sitting around and i got some spare cash between my car and food and i was thinking about making a budget gaming system for my bedroom... the only problem is i dont know of any good motherboards.. i got around 50 bucks tops to spend on the mobo... i was lookin at the MSI K7N2 Delta2-LSR here: http://www.msicomputer.com/product/p...2-LSR&class=mb
and wondering if it is a good motherboard for a gaming system and a mild-medium overclock. i cant spend to much money because i need to get a video card... also does anyone know if asus makes there 128mb agp 6800 anymore? because i wanted to get one of those also but no one carries it anymore. thanks.

You can buy one used, just search our forums or ebay. The MSI board you have there has a nforce2 chipset, So overclocking should be fairly easy. Nforce chipsets are very good overclockers.

That MB has the NF2 400 Ultra chip set which is a good thing for OCing.
Hopefully some one who has had it can fill you in further.
Till then, try some googling to see if you can find some reviews!

Get CPU-Z from www.cpuid.com and see if its a Palimino or Tbred first.
TheTbred OCs better!
A Tbread, if your is rund 1667 as does the PAlly, bit the Tbread may hit 22-2300MHz with good cooling!

which one of the 2 came first? im pretty sure i got it a few weeks after it was introduced how ever long ago that was i cant check it right now because its just a bare processor i need a motherboard for it unless there are markings on it that i can see to identify it.

I don't think there would be, but in any case, if you can, get an AGP 6800GS. You can unlock another quad to make it equivalent to a 6800GT.

Oh, back on topic, I don't know if you could find a DFI board used or something but those are legendary overclockers.
