I dont have one of those diag cards. I was thinking about getting one, though after this incident.

Ok, it happened again. Only this time it actually crashed from Windows. I don't know what the heck's going on. I pulled my TEC and there was a little condensation underneath my neoprene, but nothing that I thought would be a problem. I left the TEC/processor/neoprene pads off the board to let it dry for a couple of hours. I also pulled the GPU and made sure there wasn't any water on it. I couldn't see any, so I let it set out also. I just put it back together and hit the power button, and nothing. No beeps, nothing, just the same as before. I didn't swap processors because I thought it was the condesation that could've been the culprit, and it being dry I figured it'd work. No water got onto the CPU or pins, though, as it was all covered with dielectric grease. I only saw one drop fall down onto the video card, but if it were the card, than the computer would do something when I pulled it, but nope. I guess I'll have to pull it all apart again and test to see if my processor gave up the ghost. If that doesn't work, I'll have to buy the RAM for my sister's comp earlier than I expected (so I can test my rig). I may have her computer put together more quickly than I thought!

And doesn't Msi make the finest motherboards?
Mine started doing the same when the PSU started to die...try a different PSU..clear the CMOS...and hook it up

I don't know if you're being sarcastic or not, but with my experience with this board it could go either way (some good and some bad). I'll try a generic PSU at stock settings and see if it'll boot.

I hit the power just now and got a beeeeep beep beep. One long beep and two very short, very close beeps. What the heck does that mean?

Edit: According to the BIOS diagnostic beep FAQ, that means my video card is shot... I guess I'll try that first.

It didn't come with it?? I can't even count how many MSI motherboards I've used over the years and every single one of them came with it.

Duke, I think you're remembering the thread I created while FAQ were down, but I need to give credit to the "audio beeps" part because that was copied from somewhere on the internet. (or I could remove it, most only use the lights anyways)

I swapped out CPU's (3800 for my 3000+ Winny) and it's still got problems. However, I've got it to at least boot but not everything is working. It won't load the nVidia display. I had to boot with both my 6600GT in the PCI-Express slot AND a legacy PCI video card. I've got the PCI slot as the primary display adapter, as I can't get the video card to work. I'm leaning towards either a bad video card (which doesn't make sense that I can't pull it out to make the board work) or a bad motherboard. So it's probably the board. I'll keep experimenting and let you all know what I find.

Can it possibly be because of overheating?
Oh and did ya try switching to a different card?

It can't possibly be due to overheating, because my processor never breaks 10C, my chipset never breaks 35C, and my GPU never breaks 40C. I don't know what else would have heat issues...

I don't have another PCI-Express video card to try out, though I'm ordering my sister's motherboard toniht and I'll be able to do a lot more troubleshooting once I can determine what parts work on her system.
