Who knows? Maybe they just aren't selling well enough, and some computer programs averaged the price out to be that? lmao...I have no idea. The world of computer parts never makes any sense when it comes to price changes.

Just don't buy either, and you'll be all set.

The FX-55 was coming with a free motherboard (I think the highest priced one was $200) and they probably have not adjusted the price down yet.

Edit: Just checked, the FX-55 comes with a combo deal with -$150 to three different motherboards now. That is why it is higher--not as high of savings as the previous promotion, but you can get DFI with it now (the previous one was Asus or MSI iirc).

No... ones clocked at 2.6 and the other is 2.8...

I also saw this on one of my supliers website... both chips EXACTLY the same price.... I just added an extra $15 to the FX57 to make it seem more expensive lol

Well, they have the same cooler, so one can...up the multi by one, and you have the same processor! What a novel idea...
