Should I get a Athlon 64 3700+, 3800+, or an Xbox 360?

Those processors I listed would of course be of the Socket 939 variety. I would also likely get a Asus K8V motherboard-is it a good one? Keep in mind, I'm on a budget and am sick of my system chugging during heavy physics processing (IE- Half-Life 2: Deathmatch). I think the Xbox 360 looks nice but with the PS3 confirmed to ship this fall with a 60 GB HDD and Linux I'm thinkin' a proc may be a good idea...

Well in the past 6 months I've rapidly become more and more of a PC gamer... addicted to CS: Source....(So much that it affects my grades) I just sold my Xbox, I hate controlling shooters with Control Pads...
