1. Are all the necessary power connectors installed?
a. 24 and the 4 pin to MB
b. Power to Vid Card
2. Set up with just the above, CPU w/FSH plugged in and 1 stick of RAM for the minimal basics.

I have the 24pin, 4pin, and 4pin molex connected on mine. You could try that also. It kinda sounds like your video card to me. Do you have one you could borrow and swap out to test?

Not good. I had the same problem with the same board with a 4000+ cpu. Turned out the cpu was fried. Try a different cpu in the board. If it posts, its rma time.

Alright, update, it is something with the video card. I swapped it out with my friend's ATI X700 Pro using the VGA port and it works. Mobo is NOT fried (yay )

Now my problem is... the Geforce 7900 GTX has two DVI ports but no VGA. I think I need drivers for DVI, but I am unable to find them via google or nvidia's website. The DVI port does not work on the X700 either. I tried running the driver cd for the video card but it does not allow me to because its plugged into the ATI card. Any good solutions?

You can get a DVI to VGA adapter. Your drivers will work no matter the connector.

My 7900GT was acting up with the XFX drivers that came with it. As soon as I got nVidia's beta drivers, it started purring! Try those!

The video card came with 2 DVI to VGA adapters.

"The NVIDIA setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. Setup will now exit" that is with the XFX drivers CD and the Beta drivers I downloaded off of NVIDIA's website.

argh

Crappy! Which drivers are you trying to install? Beta or the ones on the CD?

EDIT: I just reread your post and seen the drivers.

The 7900 GTX is in the primary PCIE slot right now while the X700 is in the secondary with the monitor plugged into the VGA port. The 7900 GTX is in there so the stupid drivers can see the hardware. Apparently it does not want to see it.

Is there a way to force the drivers to install? I tried the "have disk" method and "choose driver to install" and it gives me the same error as above.

I would say to uninstall all video drivers and use a driver cleaner to get ride of the pesky ones. Then install one card and the drivers. Then install the other and its drivers. I am assuming that you have 2 video cards from what you have said earlier.

The X700 is my friends video card. It works without any drivers installed. Please take note that this is a fresh install of Windows XP Pro.

I tried uninstalling whatevers drivers I already had for the video controller and running the Beta driver install again. It still gives me the same error.

Are you sure I dont need DVI drivers?
